We believe that the Ukestra Method is the world's most effective method for teaching and leading adult group ukulele sessions. How can we claim this? Just from the fact that we are still here and vibrant after 15 years. And in our travels we haven't seen others operating in such a successful way. Sure there are 'schools', sure there are 'clubs', but we believe we combine the best that both these styles of uke learning have to offer.
The Ukestration Manual details the Ukestra Method - a program that helps you foster beginners and retain more experienced players, whilst teaching them music and giving them important social connections.
As one of our peers have said ...
"Your method leads to a better community of better players".
Playing ukulele isn't the only way to make music. But it's the only way I've found to make music.
Peter Scott. Small businessman, web designer & ukestran
We are proud that we have been able to make a living in our community, helping people to make music and to strengthen their community and their sense of it.
In this way, we think we are fairly unique.
This is the business of being a community musician. These are the numbers and the processes that make us sustainable.
"What I like about ukestra is that I hand over me 15 bucks and you look after the rest".
Mike Gallagher. Retired Concrete Truck-driver & Ukestran
How are we different from other ukulele teachers?
Each year since 2011 we have taught and performed at many ukulele clubs and festivals in North America. We are yet to meet (or see on the ukenet) any group that has had similar levels of success in terms of music-making, community and business sustainability. We've also studied and worked with James Hill, the world's leading ukeleist and ukulele educator, and are chuffed that he wrote the Foreword for the Ukestration Manual. We asked the world's richest ukulele player, Warren Buffet, to write the Foreword for the Business Manual, but he didn't get back to us.
